- Appearance: A tall, upright tree with smooth, reddish bark and dark green leaves
- Flowers: White, fragrant flowers in clusters of two to five in early spring
- Fruit: Large, heart-shaped, dark red cherries with firm, purple-red flesh
- Pollination: Requires cross-pollination with a compatible variety, such as Black Tartarian, Rainier, or Stella
- Soil: Well-drained, moist, relatively fertile soil
- Sunlight: Full sun
- Harvest: Can be eaten fresh, canned, or used for preserves
- Hardiness: Zones 5-8
- Chill Hours: 700-800
- Pruning: Regular pruning during the dormant season helps shape the tree, improve airflow, and promote fruit development. Pruning also assists in maintaining the tree's structure.
- Watering: Consistent moisture is vital, especially during the growing season. Deep watering at the root zone encourages vigorous growth and a bountiful harvest. We recommend a minimum 2 gallons of water every single day for the first 3-4 months. During the Summer trees need to be water early in the morning and in the afternoon, twice a day!
