Pests & Diseases: Spraying with copper in the fall before the rainy season begins can help prevent bacterial canker. Spray again during dry spells in winter and spring. Apricots are usually not bothered by insects.
Pruning: Regular pruning during the dormant season helps shape the tree, improve airflow, and promote fruit development. Pruning also assists in maintaining the tree's structure.
Watering: Consistent moisture is vital, especially during the growing season. Deep watering at the root zone encourages vigorous growth and a bountiful harvest. We recommend a minimum 2 gallons of water every single day for the first 3-4 months. During the Summer trees need to be water early in the morning and in the afternoon, twice a day!
More Info: Blenheim apricot produces medium to large, pale orange, red-speckled fruit with very juicy, orange flesh and enticing, sweet, aromatic flavor that sets the standard for apricots. This early-blooming, self-pollinating variety is famous in California for its canning quality, but is also good for drying and fresh eating.
