Mulberry Fruitless 15 Gallon - #29655

Mulberry Fruitless 15 Gallon - #29655

Year Planted

Fruitless Mulberries make excellent shade trees and do well in the desert. They can grow 20-60 feet tall. These trees like the heat, tolerate alkaline soils, and are resistant to Texas root rot. Fruitless mulberry trees can take some drought once established, but do grow faster with regular watering and fertilizing.

Characteristics:

  • Shape: Rounded or vase-shaped
  • Leaves: Bright green, lobed, and alternate
  • Flowers: Small and inconspicuous, and bloom in the spring
  • Fruit: Fruitless
  • Bark: Light green and fissured
  • Roots: Heavy surface roots that can spread out and lift concrete
  • Watering: Consistent moisture is vital, especially during the growing season. Deep watering at the root zone encourages vigorous growth and a bountiful harvest. We recommend a minimum 2 gallons of water every single day for the first 3-4 months. During the Summer trees need to be water early in the morning and in the afternoon, twice a day!
