#29244 - Assorted Tiger Barb Fish - Small - Puntigrus tetrazona

Add a beautiful burst of color and energy to your freshwater aquarium with our Assorted Tiger Barbs. Known for their bold black stripes, vibrant coloration, and lively schooling behavior, these popular tropical fish make an exciting addition to active freshwater community aquariums.

Our Assorted Tiger Barb selection includes a variety of stunning colors and patterns. Depending on current in-store availability, our Tiger Barbs may include traditional orange-and-black Tiger Barbs, Green Tiger Barbs, Albino Tiger Barbs, and other unique color variations. Each variety has its own distinctive appearance while sharing the same energetic personality.

Native to Southeast Asia, Tiger Barbs are highly active schooling fish that enjoy swimming throughout the middle levels of the aquarium. They are social fish that thrive when kept in groups of eight or more, preferably ten or more. Keeping a larger school helps encourage natural behaviors and can reduce aggression toward other aquarium inhabitants.

Tiger Barbs thrive in spacious, well-established aquariums with plenty of open swimming room, live plants, driftwood, and hiding places. Although generally hardy, they are considered semi-aggressive and may nip the fins of slower-moving or long-finned fish. They are best housed with similarly sized, active tankmates that can tolerate their energetic behavior.

These fish are omnivores and enjoy a varied diet of high-quality tropical flakes, small pellets, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia, and vegetable-based aquarium foods. A balanced diet helps support healthy growth, vibrant coloration, and overall well-being.
