Budgett's Frog - #32808

Add a unique and fascinating amphibian to your collection with our Budgett's Frogs. Known for their oversized mouths, wide flattened heads, round bodies, and comical expressions, these unusual frogs are a favorite among exotic amphibian enthusiasts.

Native to South America, Budgett's Frogs are semi-aquatic amphibians that spend much of their time submerged in shallow water. Their olive-green bodies, mottled brown markings, and distinctive upward-facing eyes give them a unique appearance. They are sometimes nicknamed Hippo Frogs because of their large mouths and unusual facial features.

Budgett's Frogs are well known for their bold personalities and impressive feeding responses. Unlike many other frogs, they may inflate their bodies, open their mouths, or make loud squeaking sounds when threatened. They have strong jaws and can bite, making them best suited as display animals rather than frequently handled pets.

These frogs require a spacious, secure enclosure with shallow, clean, dechlorinated water, a stable resting area, and proper temperature control. Water quality is especially important, as Budgett's Frogs produce considerable waste. Gentle filtration and regular water changes help maintain a healthy environment.

Budgett's Frogs are carnivores and enjoy a varied diet of appropriately sized earthworms, crickets, Dubia roaches, and other suitable feeder insects. Their food should be supplemented with appropriate calcium and vitamins to support healthy growth.
