Characteristics:
Size: Can grow up to 80 ft tall and 70 ft wide, but is usually 40–50 ft tall and 25–30 ft wide
Shape: Oval crown with a smooth outline
Leaves: Narrow, finely textured, and serrated, with 7–9 leaflets per leaf
Color: Green in the summer, red to purple in the fall
Hardiness: Zones 5-8
Soil: Prefers well-drained soil, but can tolerate wet sites
Sun: Requires full sun
Water: Needs moderate water, but can be drought tolerant once established
Watering: Consistent moisture is vital, especially during the growing season. Deep watering at the root zone encourages vigorous growth and a bountiful harvest. We recommend a minimum 2 gallons of water every single day for the first 3-4 months. During the Summer trees need to be water early in the morning and in the afternoon, twice a day!
